On tonight´s episode I like to present you tracks by Michael Gordon Oldfield – you known him as Mike Oldfield.
Back in the 70ies he was one of the first who combined progressive rock with world, folk, classical, electronic, ambient, and new-age sounds which led to his well known and unique style of music. Although many of you will know him only because of the fact one of his tracks (Tubular Bells) was used for the movie „The Exorcist“, it´s a fact that he has written so many wonderful songs like Muse, Hergest Ridge or Let There Be Light – sometimes by using countless different instruments to create his idea of sounds and melodies.
My first contact with his music was the album „Songs From The Distant Earth“ and since that I ´m collecting his records 🙂
